Warning: Dangers of Fasting & Liquid Detox

Fasting Detox Diet Risks Your Health

We are once again reminded in the news of the possible dangers and side effects of the fad diet Lemon Detox – a liquid fasting detox.  This follows a dramatic increase in marketing for the liquid detox diet in Australia.

Doctors said any diet or detox program involving fasting could cause the body to break down.

“There’s no medical or scientific evidence that there’s any health benefits from fasting,” Dr Jane Smith from the Royal College of General Practitioners said. “You could be doing your body harm.”

Doesn’t that contradict the reason you wanted to do a detox diet in the first place?

The side effects are short term – and can be detrimental to your health.  Anyone wanting quick fast results get just that – but they may also risk their health.  So what is the point in a fasting detox diet?

Research your Detox Diet

Always do your research before starting any fad diet – and especially any one suggesting you should starve yourself to achieve results!
